Kalesma, which means ‘inviting’ in Greek, is an ode to its temperament rendered by way of its expansive outdoor areas.
In contrast with the arid rocky landscape and dark blue sea of Mykonos, the hotel’s design places emphasis on smooth edges, natural hues and soft textures. The complex unfolds around a central square in the form of interlocking houses, taking the form of a Cycladic village. Common spaces, from restaurant Pere Ubu to the property's sunset lounge, Aloni, are meant to garner a sense of community. Exposed to uninterrupted sea and sunset views, each room features a private heated pool, while most of the furniture is custom made, created by Greek craftsmen and renowned artists.
Spacious and simple, Kalesma’s Cycladic inspired suites and villas effortlessly blur the line between indoors and outdoors. The open-air concept allows guests to constantly interact with the surrounding scenery and to take in the views of the Aegean Sea. Both the architecture and design of the hotel are inspired by the laid-back allure of Mykonos.
